ONECENTRAL

ONECENTRAL [DESIGN COMPLETED 2021] HIGH-RISE [48 STORY] TYPE 1A CONSTRUCTION MULTI-FAMILY APARTMENT BUILDING IN SEATTLE, WA. ONECENTRAL REPRESENTS A NEW TYPE OF MIXED-USE COMMUNITY IN THE HEART OF SEATTLE’S DENNY TRIANGLE NEIGHBORHOOD INCLUDING MARKET-RATE RENTAL UNITS AND CO-LIVING/CO-WORKING SPACES CONNECTED THROUGH COMMUNCAL AMENITIES SPREAD ACROSS THE TWO TOWERS. THE DESIGN TEAM DEFINED A UNIQUE VISION FOR THE PROJECT THAT DRAWS ON THE HISTORIC DENNY TRIANGLE REGRADE AND RESULTING SPITE MOUNDS AS INSPIRATION TO NAVIGATE A CHALLENGING SITE CONSTRAINED BY MULTIPLE LARGE DEVELOPMENTS LOCKING IN TOWER SEPARATION AND BUILDING HEIGHT RESTRICTIONS. WORKING WITH THE CITY OF SEATTLE, THE TEAM NEGOTIATED AN OPPORTUNITY TO EXCEED MAXIMUM TOWER WIDTH TO CREATE A GRACEFULLY CANTILEVERED TOWER THAT ENHANCES THE SKYLINE AND PROVIDES ADDITIONAL SQUARE FOOTAGE AT PREMIUM VIEW FLOORS. AMENITY SPACES CROSS TRADITIONAL BOUNDARIES BETWEEN THE PUBLIC STREET AND PRIVATE REFUGE, UTILIZING PROGRAMMING AS A WAY TO CONNECT PEOPLE ACROSS GENERATIONS, CULTURES, WORK STYLES AND LIFESTYLE PREFERENCES. ONECENTRAL ROLES INCLUDE PROJECT ARCHITECT FOR SCHEMATIC DESIGN THROUGH CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS. WORK PROPERTY OF GENSLER.
